The Fox and the Hummingbird (and a Video Replay)

I've been absent for quite awhile, I know... Apologies for the lapse in inspirational posts; I lost my way there a bit for a few!

But I finally felt compelled to crawl out from under my rock and share a bit of new art with you from one of my little sketchbooks.

As I talk about in my various Mellie's Car Art videos, and as I talked about during my impromptu intuitive art lesson/demo video at the local natural hot springs during my lunch break today, in order to get out of my mind and into my intuitive flow, I often scribble and smear and then quickly turn the page so that I avoid getting attached to any sort of outcome. I intentionally leave the pages marked and unfinished to relieve pressure on myself and welcome in PLAY. Creativity. JOY.

This morning, one of those pages finally spoke to me again, and I saw a hummingbird in all of the marks from the underlying layers. I Googled hummingbird photos until I found one that looked like the vision I saw in the art, then proceeded to bring my little hummingbird into form.

What's ALSO interesting is that I had already created one of my little Animals of Inspiration foxes on the opposite page. And together, what a magical message these two weave for us today! Shape shifting, remaining detached, and embracing lightness and joy... ALSO themes from today's hot springs intuitive art slash intuitive painting inspirational lesson/demo!

FOX:

Fox urges us to develop the art of camouflage, invisibility, and shape shifting. They are agile, skilled, and unpredictable. Fox’s power lies in not being able to outrun the hounds, but to know in advance when they will be out hunting. The ability to camouflage can be deduced as being able to take a step back and view an interpersonal situation with detachment. This includes opening up the less obvious senses, such as intuition.

HUMMINGBIRD:

The hummingbird brings special messages for us. It is a teacher of joy, and their lessons are many.

Hummingbird teaches us to go beyond time and to see that what happened in the past and what may happen in the future is not nearly asimportant as what is occurring now. Remember to hover in the moment, and to appreciate its sweetness. Drink deeply of the nectar of life. Their physical lightness is a powerful reminder for us to lighten up. When weighed down with worries, our spirits cannot soar.

I hope you receive the energy encoded in the artwork above - just set your intention to open and receive what's there for you. There is also energy encoded in the words of this post! Enjoy!
