Art.

I’m a self-taught artist and illustrator. Sadly, I stopped making art for 20 years. A teacher in high school told me I wasn’t any good and discouraged me from continuing my practice. Instead, I eventually channeled my artistic tendencies into graphic design, and it took me decades to finally realize that no one else’s opinion mattered. I was in my 30s before I brought art back into my life to create things that bring me JOY (You’ll notice that UNICORNS play a large role in my art, and that is intentional because they are freaking DELIGHTFUL.)

I’m also lucky enough to be able to attend a local art-making club on Tuesday nights, if you ever want to join us!

Although I’m continually creating and evolving (I’m often criticized for my lack of desire to stick with “just one thing”), here are a few of my favorite artistic endeavors.

HeartFULL Pet Portaits

I began creating HeartFULL Pet Portraits in 2013 while working as a Website Operations Manager and Designer for Pet360 outside of Philly (now Chewy.com and based in CA). I’m one of those “love animals more than people” humans, because they’ve always offered a soothing heart balm of acceptance, when humans are more eager to judge. I love using bold colors and strong lines to convey the unique personality and soul energy of each and every pet.

Polaroid Emulsion Lifts

While mainly considering myself a mixed-media artist and illustrator as well a professional graphic/web designer, I began experimenting with the visual possibilities of deconstructing Polaroid film in January of 2022. I used my Polaroids to document my deep love for the local Crystal River Valley and Roaring Fork Valley landscapes, gradually evolving my unique photography into one-of-a-kind artworks.

Unicorn Cutie Illustrations

I’ve created unicorns participating in numerous activities, from paddleboarding to mountain biking — even including fashion modeling! Click on any illustration to find print-on-demand merch bearing that design.

Sport-icorn Illustration Series

I’ve created unicorns participating in numerous activities, from paddleboarding to mountain biking — even including fashion modeling! Click on any illustration to find print-on-demand merch bearing that design.

Local Dogs Portrait Project

I took it upon myself to digitally illustrate 70 individual local dogs, then design and print sticker sheets and offer these sheets for sale in both Redstone and Marble, Colorado.

Magic in the Wild: Unicorn Spotting

I used my own photos taken in local locations and digitally drew my magical unicorn illustrations on top, creating a chance to spot “Magic in the Wild.”

Dancing Uniquorns

I created and evolved these Dancing Uniquorn characters over several years, and they’ve been used for numerous painting and illustration series. My characters arose rather organically from some a series of sketchbook doodles and have continued to evolve over the years. Learn how they began.

Inner Power Paintings

Inner Power Paintings were a series of mostly abstract and experimental pieces I created between 2015-16. They vary in size and medium, but were used for the Layers of Healing oracle deck which I designed and self-published right before teaching my Create Your Own Oracle Deck course in 2016-17.

Animals of Inspiration

The Animals of Inspiration series began back in 2015 when I participated in an Artist Trading Card exchange, and designed both a unicorn and a raccoon character to which I added words of inspiration. Since then, I’ve published two 40+ page Animals of Inspiration coloring books using the series of illustrations which resulted from that initial foray. I’ve also used these illlustrations for apparel, an oracle deck, and happy vinyl stickers.

“Mini Series” Abstracts on Paper

In the last year or so, I began creating mini abstracts (mostly 3x3; recently some 5x5) in order to satisfy my need to create MORE. To be less precious and afraid. To experiment.

Lightworker’s Guide Tarot & Oracle

I’m especially suited to projects like Ankita’s, where I’m able to come up with solutions that meet both the aesthetic and the budget of a given client. Purchase design hours or see my Create Your Own Oracle Deck course.
